NID Admission Process
Application: Online Application start: 11th September 2025.
– Last date of submitting Online Application form: 1st December 2025.
– Date of Written Entrance Examination for DAT Prelims: 21st December 2025.. Fill out personal and academic details, upload documents, and pay the fee (₹3,000 for General, ₹1,500 SC/ST/PwD, ₹5,000 for Overseas).Stages: NID DAT is in two parts:
Prelims: Pen-and-paper test (December 2025)

NID Exam Pattern 2026
Stage 1: DAT Prelims
Duration: 3 hours (B.Des), 2.5 hours (M.Des)
Mode: Pen and paper (offline)
Mix of objective (MCQ, 40 marks) and subjective (sketching, creativity, 60 marks) questions.
Stage 2: DAT Mains

NID Eligibility (Who Can Apply?)
B.Des: 10+2 passed or appearing 2025-26 in any stream from a recognized board. Age limit: Born on/after 1 July 2004 (GEN/EWS), relaxation for reserved categories.
M.Des: Recognized 4-year bachelor’s degree, or 3-year bachelor’s + 1-year diploma after 12th; or 4-year diploma in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/Architecture.
